Summary
The 4th ranked Lockport Porters visited Homewood-Flossmoor on Friday night and continued their winning ways, cruising to a 56-15 victory over the host Vikings. Lockport came out on top in 10 of 14 weights, getting bonus points in 9 of those 10 wins.
For the Porters, George Wolfe started the night off bumping up to 160 and scoring a technical fall victory over his opponent. Nick Dado received the first of many forfeits, and a 5-0 decision by Yusif Salah had Lockport out to an early 14-0 lead.
Austin Atwood lost by fall at 195, but Dan Stojsavljevic evened out the difference with a forfeit at 220. Ronald Tucker extended the lead wth a fall at 285, to remain undefeated on the season, and another forfeit, for Anthony Molton, pushed the team score up to 32-6.
Lockport dropped the next two matches, however. At 113, a botched takedown attempt resulted in Matt Kronsbein giving up a takedown to his back, where he fought off without giving up the pinfall for nearly a minute. Unfortunately, those five points he gave up in that action were the only points scored in the match, and he couldn't come back from that deficit. Garrett Golob took on HF's most notable wrestler, Alec Campos, and while he held it to a decision through most of the match, he ultimately gave up a major decision halfway through the third period.
Heading into 126, Lockport still held a 32-13 lead, and would trade victories in the next two matches. Brandon Ramos won by fall at 126, while Dalton Dwyer lost a 6-1 decision at 132. The Porters closed out the night with three straight victories, however, as Baylor Fernandes scored a fall at 138 pounds, Zach Reese received a forfeit at 145, and Shayne Oster recorded yet another fall on the season in the final match of the night at 152 pounds.
