Preview: Week of 11/30

All levels have a home dual against Joliet West this Thursday, December 3, with the lower levels beginning at 5:30.  This is also picture day, so please don't forget to have the forms and money ready to go!  At the varsity level, Joliet West had three placers at the Barrington Tournament this past weekend.  4th ranked Darvell Flagg took 1st at 113, Austin Poch was the runner-up at 120, and honorable mention Meekah Ben-Israel took 6th at 220.

Varsity travels to Fox Senior High School in Arnold, Missouri on Friday morning for the 42nd Annual Ron Sauer Duals.  Wrestling begins Friday evening starting at 5pm, and continues Saturday morning.  This is our third year going to this tournament, posting a combined 12-2 record in the past two years, taking 2nd in 2013 and 5th in 2014.  Hopefully we can post a 7-0 record and win it this year.  Follow the action live on TrackWrestling at this link.

On the lower levels, there is a Sophomore tournament at Hinsdale Central this Saturday, beginning at 9am.  We'll be sending sophomores from our JV as well as some freshman starters as well.  Wrestlers who are going will be informed by the end of the week by their specific level coaches.

Alumni Recap:

It was a slow weekend for the alumni; given the holiday, there was not much competition to be had.  Jameson Oster, and the Northwestern Wildcats, were the lone exception.  Jameson went 1-1 this weekend at the Grapple at the Garden in NYC, getting a fall over his opponent from Drexel, and losing a close 5-4 match to #18 Richard Durso of Franklin & Marshall.
