We're 25-0 on Varsity, the JV team won "JV State" this past weekend, and the Freshman team ended their season with a win at the GBN Freshman Invite.  What a great week!

Varsity has conference this weekend, and our alumni had a pretty great week this week too - that's why Mr. Brad Johnson gets the header!  (Also, that photo is definitely from the NDSU dual back in November but if the OU website can use it, so can I.  Photo credit: the unnamed person who took said photo).

First big individual tournament of the high school season is out of the way.  The Porters finished in 3rd at the POWERade, considered the second toughest tournament in the nation, despite a few underwhelming performances, but on the strength of some standout performances as well.  Lockport fell to third by a single point.  This week, Lockport will be up in Kaukana, WI, to participate in the Cheesehead tournament.  Recap and information on those are within, as is a recap of the action our Alumni saw this past week.  Click to get more!

Lockport Finishes in 3rd Place at POWERade Tournament

Thursday and Friday, December 30 and 31, The Lockport Porters wrestling team took place in the prestigious POWERade Wrestling Tournament, rated as the 2nd hardest tournament in the nation for the 2016-2017 season.  Lockport's team performance, while clearly an underachievement compared to expectations, still resulted in five individual placewinners.  This gave the Porters 128 points, falling just one point shy of the 2nd place team, but a hefty 33 points behind the champions.

Friday night, Lockport hosted Homewood-Flossmoor at Central Campus.  Taking place under the spotlight, the meet was originally slated to be Senior Night, but a rash of injuries and illness caused that recognition to be postponed to a later date.  The wrestlers who were still able to roll around came out and dominated, winning the first twelve matches of the dual en route to a 68-12 victory.
